STAZIONE DI FORLI’

YEAR: 2019

CITY: Forlì (Fc)

COUNTRY: Italy

CUSTOMER: RFI

A history dating back almost one hundred years, facing up to modern and functional requirements focused on efficiency, safety and speed.

Working on the lighting of the Forlì Train Station has meant placing our experience at the service of a building that plays not only a social but also historical role, a part of collective memory.

The “new” station was in fact opened in 1926, when the previous building - located just a few hundred metres away - proved to be unsuitable for the demands of a continuously evolving and ever more dynamic world.

The aim was to provide the city with a railway hub capable not only of providing support for the expanding Adriatic Railway network in the period between the end of the 1800s and the beginning of the 1900s, but also of rendering the city more modern and dynamic.

The contribution of the Cariboni Group

The illumination of a station, a public space and a place of transit, has to respond to various requirements, all of equal importance.

On the one hand, there is the matter of safety, guaranteeing the serenity of those who find themselves in such places, and, on the other, functionality, rendering areas easy to cross, eliminating areas of shade and highlighting routes. It is also necessary to bear in mind the question of sustainability, thus limiting energy consumption and increasing the reliability and durability of the lighting units.

Two products from Cariboni Group were used for this project: Trail SM, which allows for a form of lighting that is both functional and decorative, and Levante Medium, which, thanks to its power and high-performance optics, is perfect for the lighting of large areas.
